Myth Busters

It is expected that older students use their leadership skills to help those that need assistance.  

• These are the questions for the two mythbusters episodes.   1.  Episode 1: Season 9 - Presidents Challenge 2.  Episode 2:  Season 8 - Fireball Stun Gun
• These questions should work for both videos. 
• Put these in your science blogs. 
• Students should also paste a picture that represents the myth they saw in their blog as well.  
• Thanks and have fun, these videos are really cool.

1. What myths were presented in the video?

Episode 1

Can the power of the sun reflect off glass and set a boat sail on fire.

Can a certain amount of wait flip a car over it's front tire.

2. What do the words busted, plausible and confirmed mean?

Plausible means possible.

Busted means not possible.

Confirmed means possible.

3. Which myths were busted, which were not?

Episode 1

Both of episode one's myths were busted.

Episode 2

CSI fireball was plausible.

Fireworks launch was busted.

4. What would you have done differently in any of the experiments.

Nothing, they did everything they could very well.

5. What myth would you like them to bust?

How tall can a human jump.

saltwater vs fresh water

State the Problem: Does Salt water effect plant growth

Gather Information:

Hypothesis: Yes I think it will effect the growth it stop the growth.

Experiment Steps:

1.  Get cup
2.  Dipp paper towels into salt water and fresh water
3.  Put you lima beans of your choice into the each of the paper towels 
4.  Put saran wrap on the cup.
5.  Then tighten it.
6.  Then you are done.

Axolotls

Axolotls are gone or are 2 or 3 in the wild

The best kind of filter is a sponge filter. You want one because it keeps water from moving to much.

Food

• Axolotl's can smell their food.
• The food should be soft and sink to the bottom of the tank.
• Don't use live food.
• No bait worms or outside sources of food.

Problems

If the water gets warm they might get gill infection. If this happens put them in the fridge.

If there arms of limbs get bitten off by a other axolotl's. just put them in the fridge and the wound will slowly grow right back.
